What UniTracker is
UniTracker is a free web app and guide library for international students, most of them from Pakistan, applying to master’s programs at German universities. It keeps your applications, deadlines and documents in one place, converts your grades to the German scale, and explains the parts of the process nobody explains properly: uni-assist, attestation, blocked accounts, the embassy.
Why it exists
I built UniTracker after going through the German application process from Pakistan myself. The information was spread across DAAD, university pages, uni-assist FAQs and Facebook groups, half of it out of date, and most of the people charging money to “guide” applicants were repackaging those same pages. I wanted one place that tracked the work and told the truth about it.
The tracker came first, because a spreadsheet stops working at eight applications. The guides came second, because the same questions kept coming up in the groups and the answers deserved better than a comment thread.
What it does
- An application tracker: every program, its deadline, its status, and reminders before each date passes.
- A document checklist that knows the attestation stages Pakistani documents go through.
- A grade and ECTS converter that applies the modified Bavarian formula, the same one universities and uni-assist use.
- A program explorer built on the DAAD International Programmes catalog.
- Guides written for applicants from Pakistan and updated as the rules change.
What it is not
UniTracker is not a consultancy. It does not apply on your behalf, hold your documents, or take commissions from universities. There are no ads, no paywall and no premium tier. If a guide here is wrong, it gets corrected, not defended.
Who is behind it
Sheheryar Raza, a software engineer from Pakistan. UniTracker is built and maintained by one person, which is why it does a few things carefully rather than everything.
